ONE of the big moments I recall was watching the live telecast of astronaut Neil Armstrong’s being the first man to set foot on the surface of the moon. To me it doesn’t seem all that long ago but on 20 July next it will have been fifty years since that amazing event. (Could it be that I am getting old?)
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the landing the United States Mint is releasing a two coin set in conjunction with the RAM. (For details see Masterstrokes on page 14).

An English reader, Mr Howard Hodgson has contributed an excellent article on the 1918 Perth Half Sovereign. Howard has put an enormous amount of effort into researching the article and I’m sure that readers with an interest in Australian gold coins will enjoy it.
Ed Cummings of Edlins brought back a nice item from his recent trip to the USA – New Zealand’s Ten Shilling Note No. 1. The note will be offered at Ed’s Sale 219 in Canberra on March 2nd (see page 11 for more information).
